  • Today we find ourselves in the heart of the Oltrepò pavese, a land dedicated to the production of fine wines. It is right here, on the hills of Santa Maria della Versa that 1905, Metodo Classico Rosato Brut produced by the historic Cantina La Versa, was born. The name, 1905, refers to the year the historic winery was founded. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, the 1905 Rosato is distinguished by its personality. The grapes, carefully selected in the countryside, undergo a light maceration on the skins, giving the wine its characteristic soft pink colour. The subsequent soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation preserve the aromas and freshness of the fruit. After bottling and frothing, the wine rests for about 36 months in contact with the yeasts in the La Versa cellars, acquiring complexity and harmony. In the glass, the 1905 Rosato has a beautiful pale colour, with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, the bouquet is intense and fragrant. Hints of red fruits, such as ciliega and raspberry, intertwine with floral notes of rose and peony, creating a perfect harmony. In the mouth, on the other hand, it surprises with its lively freshness, combined with a good mineral savouriness. Its fine structure makes it an extremely versatile wine, perfect to accompany a refined aperitif or to enhance the flavours of fish or shellfish dishes. An ideal companion for special toasts and moments of conviviality.

Here, the environment is particularly favourable for quality viticulture, thanks to its temperate climate and varied soil composition. Since 1930, the Pinot Noir of Cantina La Versa has been earning prestigious awards, catapulting the winery onto the international scene. Then, in autumn 2019, La Versa became part of the Terre d'Oltrepò Group. This integration has enabled the winery to consolidate its position as a point of reference in Italian sparkling wine production.
