Rosé wines - South Africa

The focus of South African wine production is mainly on white wines, which account for 66% of total production. There are two basic grape varieties in South Africa: Chenin Blanc and Clombard, followed by some international varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon. In terms of red wines, there is also an important local variety, Pinotage, a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, which produces high quality wines.  If you want to travel to South Africa for a wine tasting, you should definitely visit Stellenbosch, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the country. Thanks to a temperate climate caused by Atlantic currents, it is also one of the most important in terms of production volume and quality. Before you board your flight, however, you can sample South African wines from the comfort of your own home with Svinando's selection.
