    Franciacorta DOCG Brut "Cuvée Royale"
  • Cuvée Royale comes from a selection of the best Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc grapes of Tenuta Montenisa. We are in the heart of Franciacorta, around the Borgo di Calino, not far from Lake Iseo. The vineyards surrounding the villa, owned by the Maggi family, have been the heart of Marchese Antinori's production in this fine wine region since 1999. A wine characterised by great expressiveness and elegance, it is the result of super careful processing of the bases that are then assembled and bottled for the subsequent phase of re-fermentation in the bottle which, in the case of this Franciacorta DOCG, lasts for around 36 months. The long stay on the lees thus enhances its intense bouquet, with notes of white peach, bread crust and yeast. In the glass it has a pleasant pale straw yellow colour, with a creamy froth well supported by a fine and persistent perlage. In the mouth, however, it is above all well balanced but also characterised by an intriguing vivacity, typical of Brut. Served well chilled, between 7 and 9° C, it is the right glass with which to start a dinner with friends. Excellent with fish and shellfish dishes, it can also satisfactorily accompany vegetarian and white meat dishes.

It can be said that the Antinori family has represented Italian wine in the world for practically as long as it has existed. And that would not even be an exaggeration given that the Antinori have been dedicated to the vineyard and the cellar for more than six hundred years. Ever since Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. Since then, no less than 26 generations of the family have succeeded one another at the helm of the group, which today is one of the best known and most appreciated worldwide. Today, the company is headed by Marchese Piero Antinori, with the support of his three daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, all personally involved in the company's activities. To the family's historic Tuscan and Umbrian estates, several others have been added over time. Everywhere, the aim of the Antinori family is to make the most of the peculiar terroir, to produce fascinating and somehow memorable wines. Among the 'masterpieces' signed by Antinori, one cannot forget the family's great Supertuscans, Solaia and Tignanello, mythical bottles that enthusiasts all over the world eagerly await, vintage after vintage. Or the Chianti Classico wines that represent a quality benchmark for all enthusiasts.
