The Franciacorta Grande Cuvée Alma Non Dosato opens to a very dry and crisp bouquet with tones of citrus, melon, quince and fresh pear. As the wine opens in the glass, you get faint aromas of baked bread or French pastry. This classy Franciacorta sparkler from Northern Italy produces fine and steady beading that forms a light foam at the top.

    • James Suckling 91

Anyone who thinks that Italian sparkling wines are always lighter and simpler than Champagne should try this substantial wine with pear, apple and berry nuances and a successful balance of yeast character and acidity. Long finish, where the berry notes dominate. Drink now. Disgorged in 2017.

"Grande Cuvée Alma" Bellavista Franciacorta DOCG Brut
    • The peculiar shape of its bottle, with the embossed B, and its oval orange label, as well as the long metal capsule that covers the tapered neck, are enough to ignite the passion (and thirst) in the many fans of the house of Erbusco. We are talking about the Alma Gran Cuvée, one of Bellavista's great classics. Chardonnay in clear predominance, then Pinot Noir and just a hint of Pinot Blanc, this sparkling wine is made by skilled hands from numerous selections of harvest and some reserve wines from previous years. What makes this product so unique, however, is also another factor: the fermentation and maturation of part of the base wines in small white oak barrels to bring intensity and complexity to the final result. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The pérlage rises fine and continuous. On the nose ripe fruit, fresh flowers and notes of vanilla and pastry. In the mouth it is savory and complete, fresh and vibrant. The finish is long and harmonious.

Say Franciacorta, think of sparkling wines. Say metodo Franciacorta and you inevitably think of Bellavista. There are few wine companies in Italy that are able to identify so deeply with their territory. Bellavista is one of them. Created in 1977 from a dream of the entrepreneur Vittorio Moretti who chose this estate near Erbusco to give life to his own entrepreneurial project. A project that today, a few years later, coincides with the large group that bears the name of Terra Moretti and that produces, in various corners of Italy, excellent and exclusive wines. The name of the winery, as few people know, refers to the hill on which the winery stands and from which you can admire Lake Iseo, the Po Valley and the nearby Alps in just one glance. The estate can now count on over one hundred plots of land scattered throughout the territory from which the grapes used for the production of classic method sparkling wines come. About a million and a half bottles a year. But there's no need to worry if the numbers look decidedly important. The style of the house is impeccable and all the wines have a very recognizable character. Hard to go wrong with the choice!
