  • But how good are the bubbles, especially if they are classic method, produced with grapes other than the traditional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, hoping that the champagne and the Franciacorta enthusiasts don’t hold it against us. What Ca' Maiol offers here, for example, is made from 100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes. A grape variety capable of expressing itself very well in both still and bubbly versions. The Lugana Metodo Classico DOC Brut 2016, in particular, thanks to the 18 months in contact with the yeasts and the special liqueur d'expédition, produced with a secret recipe of the company, presents the characteristic olfactory expression of bread crust that so appeals to fans of quality bubbles. For the rest, in the glass it has a beautiful pale straw yellow colour, with a very fine perlage that rises uninterruptedly from the bottom of the glass towards the surface, forming elegant chains. To the nose, in addition to the note of bread crust, there are hints of pear, herbs, and in particular marjoram, and even light balsamic nuances. In the mouth it is fresh and soft, with slight hints of fruit and a pleasantly salty finish.

    The Azienda Agricola Cà Maiol is today considered a symbol of its territory.
