CHARACTERISTICS
  • TypeVino spumante brut
  • Location Lombardy
  • Grapes Chardonnay 100%
  • Sensations Colour: bright golden yellow. On the nose intense aromas of fresh fruit such as ripe apple, yellow pear and lemon zest that make the olfactory experience enveloping and inviting. Subtle floral background with hints of jasmine. In the mouth, it is dry, with balanced acidity and a soft, silky texture. The fruity taste is persistent and harmonious. The finish is long and pleasantly dry.
  • Vinification The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. The Franciacorta bases obtained are transferred partly for fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks and partly (30%) in used wooden barriques. Here, the musts of the base wines ferment and remain until the following February/March. After this period, the wines are blended to ensure balance and complexity to the blend, which is then bottled for the second fermentation in the bottle. Maturation on the lees continues for around 24 months. With disgorging, a mixture of must and wine sugar (3.60 grams litre) is added to obtain a soft, dry, yet crisp and mineral Saten.

    Franciacorta DOCG Brut Satèn
  • The Franciacorta terroir certainly needs no introduction. It enjoys a unique microclimate, influenced by nearby Lake Iseo and cool currents from the Camonica Valley, elements that favour phenolic ripening of the grapes, allowing vinification without the addition of exogenous sugars. This is where Vezzoli's Franciacorta DOCG Satèn Brut was born. Satèn, an exclusive Franciacorta type, is distinguished by its lower pressure in the bottle (less than 5 atmospheres), which gives the wine a softness and a fine, persistent perlage, making it delicate and elegant. Produced entirely from Chardonnay grapes, hand-selected and harvested at the peak of their ripeness. Vinification follows the SoloUva Method, which uses self-produced grape must instead of external sugars. After the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented partly in steel tanks and partly (30%) in used wooden barrels. Maturation on the lees lasts at least 24 months. In the glass, it has a luminous golden yellow colour. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe fruit, such as apple and pear, with delicate lemon notes that add freshness. Floral nuances of jasmine and wild flowers complete the bouquet, making the olfactory experience enveloping and inviting. The palate is pleasantly dry yet silky, with well-balanced acidity and a minerality that adds depth and complexity. Vezzoli's Franciacorta Satèn Brut pairs well with fresh seafood hors d'oeuvres or aged cheeses that enhance the wine's complexity. Absolutely try it with spaghetti with clams, where the saline taste of the dish harmonises with the mineral and fruity notes of the Satèn.

Tradition and Innovation in a Sustainable Franciacorta. All this, and much more, is Vezzoli, an interesting reality in Franciacorta. The company, in fact, has its roots in the winemaking tradition of Franciacorta, a land renowned for its sparkling wines. For over a century, the Vezzoli family has handed down the passion for winemaking from generation to generation. In 1994, with the landing in Erbusco, in the heart of Franciacorta, the production of quality wines began. Here, Giuseppe, Maria, Dario and Jessica Vezzoli run the family-run business, personally involved in every stage of the production process, from the vineyard to the cellar. One of the special features of the Vezzoli winery is the use of the SoloUva method, a revolutionary choice compared to the traditional Metodo Classico. Since 2008, the company has developed an innovative technique involving the exclusive use of grape must for refermentation, avoiding the addition of exogenous sugars such as cane sugar. This method, specifically designed for the climate of Franciacorta, allows the terroir to be exploited to the full, bringing the pure expression of the terroir into the glass: wines rich in fruit and with an enveloping structure, fully expressing the personality of the area. Vezzoli has also chosen to embrace a sustainable approach, thanks to the Cu-Free philosophy, avoiding the use of copper, traditionally used as a fungicide, to preserve the microbial life of the soil and minimise environmental impact. Copper, in fact, although effective against vine diseases, tends to accumulate in the soil, compromising soil quality in the long term. This approach allows the company to ensure clean production and environmentally friendly viticulture while sustaining high quality standards.
