Castello di Gussago La Santissima - Via Manica, 8, 25064 Gussago (BS)
Castello di Gussago's Club Cuvée Franciacorta DOCG Brut Satèn is a journey through the vineyards of Franciacorta, where nature is reflected in every bubble. To the eye, it is an elegant pale straw yellow, enriched by green reflections, the prelude to a sophisticated sensory experience. The perlage, soft and delicate, is less vigorous, a distinctive sign of the lower pressure in the bottle, typical of the Satèn style. On the nose, this sparkling wine enchants with delicate notes of white fruit and flowers, an expression of refined femininity that plays on elegance. In the mouth, softness is combined with a vibrant freshness and a savouriness that adds complexity. A sip that flows lightly, but leaves a lasting impression, confirming the finesse and harmony of this exceptional Franciacorta.
Castello di Gussago is one of those places where every element contributes to creating perfect harmony. Situated on Monte della Santissima, in the municipality of Gussago, this ancient Roman and Longobard settlement is nestled in the picturesque Franciacorta region. From the top of the Barbisone hill, towers a monumental complex that, with its battlements, pinnacles and turrets, offers a fascinating spectacle to anyone heading from Brescia towards Lake Iseo. In this unique setting, the Castello di Gussago winery has found its ideal habitat. The beating heart of the winery is its 20 hectares of vineyards, which are distinguished by a variety of soils and exposures. Four of these hectares are located at high altitude, terraced and surrounded by the old convent, with clay-limestone soils ideal for viticulture. The other 16 hectares, distributed in the municipality of Gussago, are mostly in elevated areas, characterised by loose moraine soils with a good skeleton component. Six hectares are destined for the production of Cabernet and Merlot grapes, used for the vinification of Curtefranca Rosso. The remaining 14 are reserved for the cultivation of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, used mainly for the production of sparkling wine base and for Curtefranca white.
