Spumante Pinot Noir Viognier "Lebollè" Brut
    • A super easy bubble. A perfect goblet for a thousand occasions. This is what the Losito & Guarini winery proposes with this Pinot Noir Viogner Lebollé, an Extra Dry sparkling wine, which is therefore pleasantly soft thanks to a moderate residual sugar content, making it particularly easy to sip, right from aperitif time. If Pinot Noir is a grape variety that certainly needs no introduction, in this case it shares the stage with another French variety, this time originating from the Rhone Valley. Viogner, which risked disappearing in the past due to its low productivity, has only recently come back into the limelight, thanks to its special aromatic characteristics. It prefers warm climate regions and is generally always offered in blends with other grapes. It has a good structure, similar to a Chardonnay, freshness and pleasant tropical notes. With the typical Pinot Noir of the Oltrepò, Losito & Guarini obtains a sparkling wine base that is ideal for processing with the classic Charmat method. The result is a sparkling wine characterised by a beautiful intense straw yellow colour, with decidedly fruity aromas, hints of exotic fruit and mineral notes. In the mouth, then, an extremely lively bubble is revealed, with a balanced and persistent taste. Perfect as an aperitif, it is not afraid of comparison with shellfish and raw fish.

That of Losito & Guarini is a beautiful, all-Italian story. It began back in 1910 when a very young Domenico Losito left Trani in search of fortune. He arrived in Seveso, north of Milan, where a few years later he opened an osteria. He sold, of course, wine by the glass, in this case served in the typical 'scüdela', accompanied by the specialities cooked by his wife. From one goal to the next, Domenico's business grows and prospers, and from the initial osteria he moves on to a small enterprise that also sells wine at home alongside the restaurant business. And so it came to 1968, when Luisa, Domenico's niece and Michele's daughter, married Mr Guarini, also of Apulian origin, who sold wine wholesale in Como. Losito & Guarini at that point was ready to make the great leap in quality, thanks to the construction of new and more modern bottling plants. In the 1990s, the new generations, represented by Davide and Renato, were also involved in the family business and a new office was opened in Oltrepò. Today, Losito & Guarini produces around 25 million bottles a year, winning numerous awards from national and international wine and food critics.
