With its essential bottle and minimalist label, Spumante Origine Rosé Brut is a young and innovative product, but at the same time it recalls Valdo's strong sparkling wine tradition. The peculiarity of this sparkling wine lies in the fact that it is made from a cuvée of Glera grapes, typical of the Veneto region, and a particular native Sicilian variety, Nerello Mascalese, considered by many to be the Pinot Noir of our South. The result is an unusual blend of perfectly balanced and pleasantly structured aromas. Delicate pink in colour, Origine has a fine and elegantly floral bouquet, with a consistent presence of raspberry. In the mouth, however, it is pleasantly soft and warm, intense, with a lingering finish. Original as an aperitif, this "Veneto-Sicilian" sparkling wine is excellent with fish dishes, with shellfish and even with delicate meat dishes.
The history of Valdo is closely linked to that of the Bolla family, made up of passion and entrepreneurial spirit. A history that coincides to a large extent with that of the evolution of Prosecco and the development of the splendid territory where it is produced. It all started with an intuition of Abele, grandfather of Valdo's founder, Sergio Bolla. It was 1883 and Abele, then owner of an inn, which still exists in Soave, decided to start producing still wines to supply the best establishments in Venice and Milan. It was such a great success that in 1926 a group of enterprising entrepreneurs from Valdobbiadene decided to join forces, creating the "Società Anonima Vini Superiori", a company mainly dedicated to making Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore and Cartizze sparkling wine. In 1938, Sergio Bolla, Albano's son, acquired the Società Anonima Vini Superiori, which thus became the property of the Bolla family. From then on, its history was studded with success and satisfaction. In 1941, the company changed its name to Valdo. In 2002 the new production centre was inaugurated and shortly afterwards the company expanded outside Italy, creating two sister companies, one in Germany and one in the United States. Today Valdo is a colossus, in the best sense of the word. A company capable of producing excellent wines, carrying the good name of Made in Italy throughout the world.
