    Bordeaux Petit Bois Lussac Saint-Emilion AOP 2020
  • With a clear predominance of Merlot, this elegant Bordeaux from the Lussac area confirms the aptitude of the right bank of the Dordogne for the cultivation of this grape variety. In this case in the blend it accounts for about 80 percent while the remainder is Cabernet Franc. The vines, with an average age of 25 years, sink their roots into clay and limestone soil. Traditional vinification in stainless steel vats with temperature control Château Petit Bois shows a beautiful ruby color in the glass, sustained and bright. The nose is expressive and intense, with dark fruit aromas. In the mouth, however, it is mostly well balanced and velvety. An excellent red to bring to the table to accompany red meats or cheeses.

    In 1947 Robert Vergniol decided to purchase the land that today constitutes the historic heart of Château Petit Bois. Over the years then, with painstaking care and successive purchases, he transformed what was then just a few pieces of land and a few vineyards into a splendid estate in the heart of the Lussac Saint-Émilion appellation. Today the company is run with passion and expertise by his son Bernard. It has thus grown from a small family business to a modern company oriented toward international markets.
