    Montagne Saint-Émilion AOP 2019
  • The Saint-Émilion area in the heart of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Dordogne, is a land of choice for Merlot. Château Amandine is a perfect interpreter of this, thanks to its two hectares of vineyard, with plants over 30 years old that are rooted in a clay and limestone soil. A deep ruby-red color, this wine reveals its youthful character through obvious violet hues. The nose is fruity and spicy at the same time, with obvious hints of black cherry and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is broad and persistent, with flavors of cherry and plum. A wine of good body and excellent character, this Bordeaux red satisfactorily accompanies savory meat dishes. Excellent with game, it can also safely be uncorked to accompany a rich cheese and charcuterie board. Good wine today, in the cellar it is not afraid to wait a few years. Not too many, though. After all, it would be a shame not to uncork it at the first opportunity!

Since 2009, Amandine Giret has been the passionate owner of Château Amandine, a beautiful property in the Bordeaux region. It is located, to be precise, in Saint-Sauveur de Puynormand, within the Montagne Saint-Émilion appellation. We are in the Libourne sub-region on the right bank of the Dordogne. The village of Saint-Émilion, famous for the quality of its Merlot-based wines, is a short distance away. In this region, there are several prestigious properties and a famous Romanesque church that is a pilgrimage destination for many tourists every year.
