    Franciacorta DOCG "Flamingo" Rosé Brut
  • A Franciacorta DOCG that certainly does not go unnoticed. We are talking about Flamingo, 60% Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for the remainder, proposed here by Monte Rossa. Flamingo is the new release of one of the Franciacorta wines that have made history and contributed to the success of the Brescia-based company. A Brut version, therefore dry but not extreme, this Flamingo is inspired by the party atmosphere of Las Vegas night. "the story of a fascinating tale of fun and passion of which Flamingo is the protagonist," reads the winery's website. Vinified partly in temperature-controlled steel vats and partly in oak barrels, after blending this cuvée rests on its lees for a minimum of 24 months. Coppery pink, with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it expresses beautiful notes of berries and violets, enhanced by slightly spicy hints. In the mouth it is fresh, quite savoury, centred and mouth-watering. It closes with a decidedly long, very pleasant finish. Excellent from aperitifs to first courses, including stuffed pasta. Also to be tried on a pizza marinara.

A historic winery in Franciacorta, at Monte Rossa the farming tradition has merged harmoniously with technology. Here, craftsmanship and research are managed with commitment and an uncompromising entrepreneurial mentality. Its history began in 1972, when entrepreneur Paolo Rabotti, with the support of his wife Paola, embarked on the road to viticulture. Today it is his son Emanuele who enthusiastically carries on that project. Among the first in Franciacorta to abandon the production of still wines, at Monte Rossa they have always invested in technology, continuing to experiment in the cellar. Today, the company can count on a vineyard of around 70 hectares, divided into numerous crus, on different soils and with different exposures, which contribute to broadening the aromatic heritage of the grapes, to compose cuvées rich in structure and complexity. Annual production is around 500 thousand bottles. All to be savoured.
