      Franciacorta DOCG Satèn
    • The elegance of Franciacorta is harmoniously expressed in this Brut Satèn by Muratori, a refined sparkling wine made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown on morainic soils. The long ageing on the lees for at least 24 months gives it complexity and an enveloping creaminess. In the glass it shines a bright straw yellow, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet seduces with delicate notes of white flowers, citrus fruits and almond, accompanied by slight hints of bread crust. On the palate it stands out for its silky smoothness, balanced freshness and elegant finish, typical of the Satèn style. Perfect as a classy aperitif, it goes well with raw fish, shellfish and refined vegetable dishes. A taste experience that embodies the finesse and art of Franciacorta sparkling wine making.
When I was a researcher in the field of oenology - explains Francesco Iacono, oenologist at Arcipelago Muratori - I participated in a study conducted in Franciacorta to identify the nature of the land. We discovered that in the small area known by this name, just over 2,000 hectares, there are six different environments. So, I based the personality of Franciacorta Villa Crespia on these six different environments, each of which brings distinct characteristics to the grapes, which I want to find in the glass.’ Franciacorta is a classic method sparkling wine DOCG produced in Lombardy, in the province of Brescia. A bit like what happens with champagne in France, however, it is recognised that it is possible to refer to this great Italian sparkling wine simply by using the name Franciacorta. And Villa Crespia pays homage to Franciacorta starting with its name: in the Middle Ages, Crespie were sparkling wines.
