"1905" Metodo Classico Pinot Nero Brut
    • Oltrepò Pavese, a fertile land famous for the production of fine wines. This is the birthplace of 1905 Metodo Classico Brut, a sparkling wine that embodies the excellence and winemaking tradition of Cantina La Versa. 1905, the name chosen for this cuvée, is the founding year of the historic Oltrepadana winery. Produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this Brut sparkling wine is distinguished by its elegance and complexity. The carefully selected grapes undergo a soft pressing to best preserve their organoleptic characteristics. Primary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, followed by a period of ageing characterised by frequent bâtonnage, giving the wine structure and harmony. The highlight is the draught, which takes place the spring following the harvest. From here, the wine undertakes a long ageing on the lees for 36 months in the Caveau of Cantina La Versa. In this silent and evocative environment, the sparkling wine develops its unique characteristics, acquiring complexity, finesse and personality. In the glass, 1905 surprises with its fine and persistent perlage, anticipating a bouquet of inviting aromas. Notes of bread crust, toasted hazelnut and honey intertwine with hints of ripe berries, creating a complex and enveloping olfactory harmony. In the mouth, however, it surprises with its softness and fine structure. The balance between the acidic and fruity components is excellent, although the lively freshness dominates and gives the wine excellent drinkability. The persistence is also good, long and mineral, leaving a pleasant memory in the mouth for several seconds after each sip. A refined aperitif, it is ideal for special toasts and moments of conviviality.

Founded on 21 May 1905, Cantina La Versa immediately distinguished itself for its ambition to cultivate fine Pinot Noir, a grape variety of exceptional quality destined for the production of sparkling wines of the highest level. The winery is located in the heart of the Oltrepò pavese, a wine-growing region rich in history and tradition. Here, the environment is particularly favourable for quality viticulture, thanks to its temperate climate and varied soil composition. Starting in 1930, the Pinot Noir of the La Versa Winery began to earn prestigious awards, catapulting the company onto the international scene. Then, in autumn 2019, La Versa became part of the Terre d'Oltrepò Group. This integration has enabled the winery to consolidate its position as a point of reference in Italian sparkling wine production.
