Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée Saint-Vincent 2021
  • Imaginary journey to the heart of Burgundy, and more precisely to the Côte de Beaune, a region renowned for its elegant and complex red wines. It is here that Vincent Girardin's Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée St-Vincent was born, a wine characterised by great personality and innate elegance. The vineyards of Meursault, characterised by limestone and marl soils, offer the Pinot Noir ideal conditions for developing fruity aromas and a delicate tannic structure. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, the vinification of this Cuvée St-Vincent is conducted according to traditional Burgundy methods. The grapes, selected by hand, are partially destemmed to favour a more delicate maceration. Alcoholic fermentation, which is spontaneous, takes place in stainless steel vats, while ageing takes place in French oak barrels. This process allows the wine to develop good aromatic complexity and a soft tannic structure. To the eye, Cuvée St-Vincent has an intense ruby red colour. A fresh and fruity wine, it reveals good structure and velvety tannins in the mouth. The balance between fruit, acidity and tannins is perfect, giving the taster a pleasant and harmonious experience. Designed to be drunk young, this Burgundian Pinot Noir can safely be kept in the cellar for a few years, during which it will develop tertiary notes of underbrush and spices. An extremely versatile wine that lends itself to numerous pairings. It is perfect with grilled or roast red meat, such as a beef fillet or duck in orange sauce. It also goes well with medium-aged cheeses and mushroom dishes.

Founded in 1980 in the heart of Burgundy, Maison Vincent Girardin is today one of the most interesting expressions of terroir in this wine region. The family's link with the world of wine, however, dates back as far as the 17th century. Thanks to his innate sensitivity and his profound respect for tradition, Vincent Girardin has been able to best interpret the potential of his vineyards, located in the prestigious Côte de Beaune appellations. His production philosophy is based on a deep respect for nature and terroir. In the vineyard, sustainable farming practices are favoured, limiting the use of chemical products and favouring biodiversity. In the cellar, vinification is conducted in the traditional way, enhancing the intrinsic characteristics of each grape. With the arrival at the winery of Eric Germain in the early 2000s, the Maison then experienced a milestone in its history. A highly talented oenologist, Germain brought a breath of innovation to the winery, while maintaining a deep respect for tradition. Under his leadership, Vincent Girardin wines have reached an even greater level of complexity and elegance, expressing the essence of the great Burgundian terroirs at their best.
