Born in the heart of Salento, Il Pumo Rosso, a PGI wine, well represents Apulian conviviality and the joy of sharing special moments with friends and family. Produced by Cantine San Marzano, historic Apulian wineries located in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, this Salento red wine comes from sun-kissed vineyards, in a warm and temperate climate, with sea breezes that give the grapes flavour and minerality. Pumo Rosso, specifically, comes from a blend of red grape varieties typical of Salento. The bunches, harvested at the right degree of ripeness, give the finished wine intense aromas and fruity flavours. Vinification takes place in steel, to preserve freshness and liveliness. In the glass, Il Pumo Rosso has a beautiful intense ruby colour with violet reflections. On the nose, the bouquet is complex and broad, with notes of red fruit, such as cherry, blackberry and plum, enriched by sweet spices and a slight balsamic note. In the mouth, however, it conquers with a good structure, supported by a lively freshness and a persistent finish. A versatile wine, it goes well with cured meats and mature cheeses. Savoury first courses, such as meat ragùs, baked pasta and risottos. Perfect to accompany the classic summer barbecue.
