    "Talò" Primitivo di Manduria DOP 2022
  • There are wines that perfectly represent their territory. And Talò, Primitivo di Manduria DOP, is undoubtedly one of them. Proudly proposed by Cantina di San Marzano, it is made from pure Primitivo grapes. Vines grown not far from the sea that give rise to fruit rich in sugar and flavour, which in turn give rise to a full-bodied red wine, characterised by a beautiful minerality and balsamicity, as well as an abundance of fragrant red fruit, typical of the best-known Apulian varietal in the world. Matured in French and American oak barrels for 6 months, Talò presents itself in the glass with a beautiful ruby red colour, enriched with violet reflections. The nose reveals a broad and gratifying bouquet reminiscent of ripe cherries and plums, with pleasant notes of cocoa and vanilla. On the palate, on the other hand, one discovers a wine of fine structure, softened by the persuasive warmth of the Primitivo, and ending with notes of long sweetness. An intense red wine that requires an equally important pairing. Excellent, for example, with robust first courses, but also lamb, game and hard cheeses.

    San Marzano is a small town in the centre of the Primitivo di Manduria PDO. A strip of land between the seas that wash Apulia. It was here that 19 vine-dressers founded Cantine San Marzano. Long before the denomination of origin was created and the Primitivo di Manduria was recognised throughout the world. That was in 1962. However, it was not until 1996 that the first branded bottles were produced, triggering the transition from an economy based on bulk wine to the creation of a direct relationship with the end consumer. Today, San Marzano is a fine entrepreneurial reality, firmly rooted in respect for an ancient tradition, with an eye to the future.
