Vignobles Günther-Chereau, Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine
Loire River. Where the wind from the Atlantic caresses the vines and the sun kisses the grapes. This is where Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie AOC Château de la Gravelle was born. An organic white wine, it is one of the good products offered here by Vignobles Günther-Chereau. Château de la Gravelle is located in Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine, in an area characterised by a unique volcanic terroir. The subsoil, composed of volcanic gabbro rock covered by a thin layer of clay, gives the wine minerality and freshness. 100% Melon de Bourgogne, an indigenous Loire grape variety, its bunches, harvested by hand when fully ripe, give life to a wine with a fruity and aromatic character. Artisanal vinification, with alcoholic fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine is then left to rest on the fine lees throughout the winter, until bottling at the end of March. This process gives the wine a beautiful aromatic complexity and a pleasant smoothness. Straw yellow in colour with greenish highlights, the nose opens with a fruity bouquet, notes of citrus fruits, green apple and white peach. In the mouth it is fresh and lively, with a pleasant minerality and a lingering finish. The perfect wine to accompany fish, shellfish and seafood dishes, Muscadet is considered the 'oyster wine' par excellence.
We are located in the heart of the Loire Valley. This is where Vignobles Günther-Chereau, a winery led by Madame Véronique Günther-Chereau, is based. Noble by birth but with an easy-going and determined manner, Véronique has managed to turn her passion for wine into a successful reality. The estate's vineyards are mainly cultivated with Melon de Bourgogne, the native Loire grape variety from which the famous Muscadets are made. Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon complete the wide range of wines produced. At Véronique's side, in running the company, is now her daughter Aurore, a young oenologist full of enthusiasm and new ideas. Together, they carry on the family tradition, combining innovation and respect for the land to create wines that tell the soul of the Loire Valley.
