      "Crè" Salento Bianco IGT 2022
    • A true speciality of Salento, this Vetrère-branded Crè, Bianco IGP, comes from a pure processing of Minutolo grapes, grown in the province of Taranto, where the heat and the sun allow the bunches to reach perfect ripeness with all their best aromas. In this case, the harvest is carried out mechanically, to ensure that the grapes reach the winery quickly, without being ruined by unwanted fermentation. After all, the Salento has very hot summers and timing during harvesting is essential. Vinification is simple but accurate, in steel at a controlled temperature. For the ageing phase, then, the wine is left, again in steel, in contact with its fine lees, acquiring a certain complexity and a pleasant aromatic richness. Thus we discover a wine characterised by a beautiful bright straw yellow colour. On the nose, the olfactory hints are clear, reminiscent of orange blossom, lime and even exotic fruits such as papaya and pineapple. In the mouth, however, its natural freshness is well balanced by the richness of the fruit. A wine of great pleasantness and versatility, this Minutolo di Vetrère seems to have been born to accompany tasty shellfish dishes.

      The history of Vetrère is lost in time. Its origins are certainly very old, to the point that a map dating from the 18th century already bears witness to its presence. At the time, it belonged to the Troilo family. Then, in 1903, the young Serafina Troilo married Michele Ammazzalorsa, who later left his property to his nephew, Enrico Bruni, father of the current owners, Annamaria and Francesca. There have been five generations at the helm of the company, which produces typical Salento wines. The winery is located at the 16th kilometre along the Monteiasi-Montemesola provincial road. We are in the province of Taranto. The winery is located inside a beautiful structure dating back to the early 19th century, entirely made of tufa stone, typical of Salento. Tradition and modernity coexist here perfectly. The company, in fact, is equipped with cutting-edge technology and has consciously chosen the path of clean energy.
