The Manduria area in the province of Taranto is best known for its intense reds, such as Primitivo. But Fiano here stands out as an elegant and fresh alternative. We are located in the heart of the Salento region, where the climate can be considered very hot due to a strong exposure to the sun. Fortunately, the relative proximity to the sea creates the perfect conditions for viticulture. The limestone and clay soils, rich in minerals, give the wines excellent structure and elegant freshness. Proposed here by the historic Produttori di Manduria winery, Fiano Salento IGT 1932 is a very pleasant white wine. 100% Fiano, this grape variety, although originally from Campania, has found ‘fertile’ soil in Apulia to express its qualities to the full. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and, at the end of transformation, ageing takes place in steel tanks. This is followed by bottling and a further resting period in the cellar before marketing. Pale straw yellow in colour, luminous and inviting, the nose reveals an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of sweet peach and citrus fruits mingling with delicate floral hints. In the mouth, it is pleasantly silky and well-structured, with a fine balance between the sweetness of the white peach and the freshness of the citrus fruit. It closes harmoniously and cleanly. Perfect as an aperitif, Fiano Salento IGT 1932 goes well with fish dishes, especially raw seafood, fish carpaccio, shellfish and molluscs.
