Its name is Finis and it is a pure Chardonnay, proposed by the Vetrère winery in Salento. A fresh, certified organic wine, produced from grapes grown in the winery's vineyards in Monteiasi and Montemesola in the province of Taranto. We are located in an area particularly suited to the production of quality grapes, where the sun shines generously for several months a year and the climate is dry. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the cellar to be processed in full respect of the raw material. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and, at the end of this phase, the wine is left to mature "sur lie" for a period of about two months. This allows it to enrich itself in terms of aromas and complexity, without losing its freshness and immediacy. Straw yellow with greenish reflections, the nose has hints of peach and tangerine. In the mouth, on the other hand, it stands out for its pleasant freshness, thanks to clear hints of citrus peel and notes of ripe fruit. It is hard to imagine a more suitable wine than this Chardonnay to start a lunch or dinner. Well-balanced, it goes well with fish dishes, but also with a fresh caprese, with buffalo mozzarella and just a touch of good olive oil. Apulian, of course.
The history of Vetrère is lost in time. Its origins are certainly very old, to the point that a map dating from the 18th century already bears witness to its presence. At the time, it belonged to the Troilo family. Then, in 1903, the young Serafina Troilo married Michele Ammazzalorsa, who later left his property to his nephew, Enrico Bruni, father of the current owners, Annamaria and Francesca. There have been five generations at the helm of the company, which produces typical Salento wines. The winery is located at the 16th kilometre along the Monteiasi-Montemesola provincial road. We are in the province of Taranto. The winery is located inside a beautiful structure dating back to the early 19th century, entirely made of tufa stone, typical of Salento. Tradition and modernity coexist here perfectly. The company, in fact, is equipped with cutting-edge technology and has consciously chosen the path of clean energy. It is already able to meet its energy needs in complete autonomy.
