    Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC 2023
  • It's easy to say Chardonnay. There is, in fact, no other grape variety more versatile and capable of expressing itself in a multitude of variations. A particularly interesting expression is the one proposed here by Hans Rottensteiner. Vinified in stainless steel to enhance the varietal characteristics, this pleasant white wine has a beautiful bright yellow colour in the glass. The nose perceives above all notes of ripe and juicy yellow fruit. In the mouth it is fresh and pleasantly drinkable. With good body and right acidity, it is extremely balanced. The perfect companion for a fish-based dinner, it also has no problem when paired with white meat dishes.

Never mind that the name is of clear German origin. The Hans Rottensteiner winery is 100% South Tyrolean and has been deeply tied to its territory since its foundation in 1530. A family business, the winery has been run by several generations of winemakers. Today, it is Hannes who takes over the role of winemaker, leaving his father Anton in charge of the vineyard. The estate is located near Bolzano, in a very suggestive alpine valley. Rows of grapes, fruit trees and ancient farms. The Rottensteiner family cultivates mainly autochthonous grapes, such as Schiava and Lagrein. Nearly ten hectares of property, not a few for the area, conducted with passion and full respect for nature and the environment, which are joined by another 75 trusted local suppliers. And if the grapes are of the highest quality, in the cellar the most modern wine-making technologies do the rest. The wines of the beautiful South Tyrolean winery are here to be tried.
