    "Karagnanj" Spumante Metodo Classico Brut
  • A Metodo Classico sparkling wine decidedly outside the box. For its origin, Sardinia, and above all for its grape variety, the Vermentino used in purity for the base. We are talking about Karagnanj, Metodo Classico Brut, a small oenological jewel proposed here by Tenute Tondini. Vineyards at 350 metres above sea level, here the grapes are kissed by the sun and caressed by the wind. The vineyards, facing south-west, enjoy ideal sunshine which, together with the sea breezes, gives the grapes a perfect balance between sugars and acidity. A pure Vermentino, the grapes are harvested by hand at the right degree of ripeness to preserve the freshness and aromas typical of the variety. Vinification is completed with no less than 24 months of ageing on the lees, giving the wine complexity, structure and harmony. Brilliant straw yellow in colour, with greenish highlights, the nose reveals an intense and complex bouquet. Hints of ripe yellow fruit, peach, pear and apple are enriched by elegant notes of bread crust, white flowers and Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth it conquers with its great structure, where softness, minerality and finesse come together in perfect balance. The persistent bubble enhances the freshness and provides a long, lingering finish, inviting one to take another sip. It goes well with the whole meal, particularly with seafood dishes. Excellent with shellfish, noble fish and molluscs. Excellent as an aperitif, especially if you want to toast special moments.

    Located in the picturesque area of Alta Gallura, Tenute Tondini is a family-run winery that has stood out for the quality and originality of its wines since its foundation in 2004. The winery is located in San Leonardo, between the municipalities of Luras and Calangianus, an area known not only for the production of excellent Vermentino, but also for being the main Sardinian cork cultivation area. The Tondini family is passionately dedicated to cultivating the 20 hectares of vineyards. Vermentino occupies most of the vineyard area, reflecting the natural vocation of the land. However, the vineyards also host other native varieties such as Moscato, Cannonau and Caricagiola, as well as international ones such as Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and Dolcetto. The rows are located at altitudes between 300 and 400 metres above sea level, benefiting from excellent daily temperature ranges that enhance the aromatic characteristics of the grapes. The family's production philosophy is based on the principle that the quality of wine comes first and foremost from the vineyard. For this reason, yields per hectare are deliberately limited, guaranteeing greater concentration and intensity of flavour. In the cellar, then, the aim is to support and enhance what the land has to offer, using modern technology to preserve the aromatic heritage of the wines during fermentation. For ageing, the whites rest in steel, while the reds mature mainly in oak barrels, adding complexity and structure.
