An all-round bubbly. But above all a pleasantly territorial wine, produced with 90% Verdicchio grapes and an addition of 10% Chardonnay. We are talking about Frati Bianchi, a Brut sparkling wine produced using the Charmat method of re-fermentation in autoclaves. The base comes from white vinification at a controlled temperature, to safeguard the freshness of the fruit and the frankness of the aromas. The subsequent processing in autoclave then lasts for about 4 months, followed by a final bottle ageing period. The fresh and fruity aromas of the Verdicchio grapes are emphasised by the refermentation method. And the long stay of 4 months on the yeasts makes this label rich and balanced. In the glass it is a beautiful pale straw colour and crystal clear, with a fine and persistent white mousse. The nose is pleasantly fruity and floral, with hints of citrus and yellow flowers. On the palate, however, it is dry, soft, fairly warm with considerable freshness and tanginess. Excellent as an aperitif, this bubbly accompanies both appetisers and tasty first courses. Try it with a tasty grilled fish.
The Sparapani company is located in Cupramontana, in the heart of the Marche region. It has a long history dating back to 1933, when the family bought the current structure with the food shop business. In 1980, Settimio Sparapani took over his grandparents' business, dedicating himself to the cultivation and processing of Verdicchio. With him were his wife and three children, Giuseppe Paolo and Francesca. Thus was born the Sparapani Frati Bianchi winery, with reference to an adjacent hermitage. The rest is history, with the production of the prized Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore and Riserva, up to the vinification of pure Montepulciano grapes, aged in wood.
