    Brut de France Methode Traditionnelle
  • Brut de France, Méthode Traditionnelle, is a pleasant and immediate sparkling wine from Grands Domaines du Littoral. A sparkling wine without a vintage, it was born in Camargue, a fascinating region in the South of France. To be precise, we are in Aigues-Mortes, an area characterised by sandy soils, hence the name 'vins de sable'. This particular soil composition, together with the influence of the nearby Mediterranean Sea, gives the region's wines a distinctive minerality and unmistakable freshness. The climate is warm and sunny, with a beneficial sea breeze that creates ideal conditions for growing grapes. Brut de France is made predominantly from Chardonnay grapes, selected from several plots spread across the vast Camargue vineyard. The sparkling wine is made using the traditional method, or Champenoise, with the second fermentation in the bottle. This process gives the wine its fine and persistent effervescence, and allows a complex aromatic bouquet to develop. In the glass it has a beautiful bright straw yellow colour, with a fine and elegant perlage. The nose reveals a broad and complex bouquet of small white flowers, followed by delicate fruity notes of yellow and white fruits. In the mouth, then, it perfectly reflects the olfactory hints, adding an elegant mineral note. The finish is pleasant, well-balanced and persistent. It is particularly appreciated in the first two to three years after its release, during which it maintains freshness and liveliness. Perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with light appetisers, seafood, oysters and salmon.

The Grands domaine du Littoral brings together five vineyards in the former Languedoc-Roussillon. From the Villeroy estate on the Sète lido, to Domaine Royal de Jarras on the outskirts of Aigues-Mortes, to Château La Gordonne in Pierrefeu-du-Var, Provence. The whole brings together 2,000 hectares of land. Some of the wines on offer are labelled as organic.
