CANTINA PRODUTTORI SAN MICHELE APPIANO SOC.AGR.COOP, VIA CIRCONVALLAZIONE 17-19 39057 APPIANO SULLA STRADA DEL VINO
Fallwind is the name of the fall wind that characterises the entire cultivation area of Cantina San Michele Appiano. It is a fundamental element, one that gives its wines extraordinary aromatic characteristics, freshness and great longevity. And Fallwind is also the name that the winery managers wanted to give this precious line of wines. Specifically, it is a Alto Adige DOC, 100% Gewürztraminer. A wine produced with almost maniacal care by the technicians of the South Tyrolean winery, which is made in steel, with fermentation activated by selected yeasts. Contact which then persists until the end of February. A beautifully typical wine, the Gewürztraminer Fallwind has a beautiful straw-yellow colour, with an intense bouquet reminiscent of roses, exotic fruits and oriental spices. The drinking experience is fresh and refined. In the mouth, it is extraordinarily mineral, with notes of ripe exotic fruit, caramel and cloves. Complex, elegant and ample. Perfect with fish starters, savoury pies and fresh cheeses.
About 2 million bottles per year. Very high average quality. About 350 members. These are the numbers, and the facts, that characterise the beautiful cooperative winery of San Michele Appiano. Founded in 1907 by a few wine growers who were visionary in their own way, today it is one of the most solid entities in Northern Italy, with wines that are appreciated, and awarded, all over the world. If one thinks of Alto Adige and its good varietals, San Michele Appiano cannot be missed. Its production, in fact, is dominated by wines made from grapes typical of the region, from Gewürztraminer to Müller Thurgau. From Sauvignon to Riesling. From Pinot Bianco to Lagrein. All mountain grapes that grow thanks to the mild climate and the unique soils of its vineyards. Today, the winery has around 400 hectares under vine. An enormous area, if one thinks of Alto Adige, but small in absolute terms. Especially when one considers the number of members in the winery. When it comes to vineyard management, a team of technicians and agronomists is constantly at each winegrower's side, offering valuable advice on how to manage their rows. The result is grapes of the highest quality, which, once they reach the winery, are processed to enhance every nuance, thanks to the most innovative oenological techniques. Welcome to Alto Adige.
