In spite of the ripeness of this generous gewurztraminer, the yellow-rose and fruit aromas (apricot to lychee) are so very precise. Just a touch of curry leaves. Spot-on balance with mineral freshness that lifts the full body in a way that must be experienced to be believed. The perfect introduction to this category! Drink or hold.

      Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2023
    • You can't consider yourself a true South Tyrolean wine enthusiast if you can't pronounce the word Gewürztraminer properly! Joking aside, this vine variety, which originates from the area of Tramin in the Bassa Atesina, is a cornerstone of the range of white wines produced in South Tyrol. Distinctly floral and fruity, with characteristic intense aromas, this wine is increasingly being paired with Asian recipes. Cantina di Terlano harvests it in vineyards that are not too high, between 270 and 450 metres above sea level. Harvested by hand to select only the best grapes and vinified super soft and carefully, this white wine matures for around 6 to 7 months on the fine lees in steel vats before meeting the bottle. The result is a wine characterised by a beautiful, bright, saturated straw yellow colour. Its bouquet is captivating, with hints of lychee and mango, as well as honeysuckle and cloves. The bouquet is completed by notes of rose petals, particularly characteristic for this grape variety. In the mouth it is pleasantly aromatic, where the fresh fruity flavour and lively acidity, together with the mineral notes, result in a pleasant and persistent finish.

Founded in 1893, the Cantina di Terlano is one of the most avant-garde wine cooperatives in the whole of Alto Adige. Its 143 current members cultivate 190 hectares of vineyards, producing a total annual output of around one and a half million bottles, divided into two lines, plus a few rarities of great oenological value. In the modern wine cellar, only DOC wines are produced, especially white wines, thanks to the new area created in 2009, where the wines have all the space they need to grow and develop to the full. From an architectural point of view, the Terlan Winery also deserves special mention. On the outside, part of the building has been covered with red porphyry, the typical rock of the area, while the roof of the winery has been greened and covered with vines, thus blending into the surrounding cultivated landscape. The wine archive of the cellar is unique in Italy with its 100,000 bottles from the 1955 vintage to the present day. However, the cellar also holds some ancient treasures: some bottles dating back to the year of its foundation!
