    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino bianco fermo
    • Location South Tyrol
    • Grapes 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Sauvignon
    • Sensations Colour: Sparkling straw yellow with green hues. Smell: The Terlaner Cuvée is distinguished above all by its bouquet of green apple and white peach, but also by a fine nuance of lemon balm and mint. Taste: The aroma of peach is also clearly perceptible on the palate, which gives this wine its lively character. The organoleptic profile, which is very articulated, is the result of an interplay between freshness and mineral taste, enhanced by a very long aftertaste.
    • Vinification Manual grape harvest and selection. Gentle pressing and racking by natural sedimentation. Slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Maturation for 5-7 months on the fine lees partly in stainless steel vats (80%) and partly in large wooden barrels (20%).

The flinty minerality and intense wild-herb aromas set the ripe-citrus aromas of this concentrated, racy Alpine dry white alight! So much mountain freshness and minerality at the long, high-energy finish. A cuvée of pinot bianco, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc that dates back to this producer’s foundation in 1893. Drink or hold.

Terlaner Cuvée Alto Adige DOC 2023
    • The word Cuvée should not be misleading. In fact, this is not a sparkling wine but a blend of different grapes, designed by the winery's winemaker to give complexity and depth to this Terlaner, a 100% South Tyrolean white wine. A historic blend for the winery, obtained from a blend of the three most traditional varieties grown in Terlan, namely Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon. It is a fundamental wine for the company, which has been producing it since the year it was founded. An extremely structured wine, its unique profile is largely due to the presence of the Pinot Bianco, which gives it freshness and good acidity. The Chardonnay, on the other hand, has the task of giving it softness and warmth, while the Sauvignon Blanc adds, as is normal, that hint of refined aromaticity. The winery experts recommend a traditional pairing of this interesting white wine with Terlan wine soup. However, for those who do not have the opportunity to sip it while gazing at the peaks of the Alps, it can also be served with pizza or pasta with tomato sauce, focaccia with rosemary or penne all'arrabbiata. It doesn't lack versatility.

Founded in 1893, the Cantina di Terlano is one of the most avant-garde wine cooperatives in the whole of Alto Adige. Its 143 current members cultivate 190 hectares of vineyards, producing a total annual output of around one and a half million bottles, divided into two lines, plus a few rarities of great oenological value. In the modern wine cellar, only DOC wines are produced, especially white wines, thanks to the new area created in 2009, where the wines have all the space they need to grow and develop to the full. From an architectural point of view, the Terlan Winery also deserves special mention. On the outside, part of the building has been covered with red porphyry, the typical rock of the area, while the roof of the winery has been greened and covered with vines, thus blending into the surrounding cultivated landscape. The wine archive of the cellar is unique in Italy with its 100,000 bottles from the 1955 vintage to the present day. However, the cellar also holds some ancient treasures: some bottles dating back to the year of its foundation!
