  • Sensations Its intense, aromatic fragrance and its full, smooth character require dishes with a strong flavour. We recommend it in combination with shellfish, tasty cheeses and desserts such as strudel.
  • Vinification Harvesting is carried out manually in small containers for transport to the winery. After a brief maceration and whole cluster crushing, the must undergoes natural sedimentation. Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. Maturation on fine lees in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation for 8 months.

VINEYARD
  • Terrain One third of the grapes chosen for this extraordinary wine come from the area of Cornaiano on the hills of Oltradige, at an altitude of 450 - 500 m above sea level, from various vineyards aged between 10 and 15 years. The remaining two thirds come from the Bassa Atesina - Cortaccia area. The combination of gravelly to clayey and mineral-rich soils give this wine a unique character.

    "Flora" Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2022
  • One third of the Gewürztraminer grapes selected to produce this extraordinary wine come from the Cornaiano area. We are located on the hills of the Oltradige, where the vineyards enjoy perfect exposure and a beneficial temperature range between day and night that helps to lengthen the ripening period, with a beneficial effect on the finer aromas of the grapes. The remaining two thirds come from the Bassa Atesina - Cortaccia. Manual harvesting and refinement on its own fine lees in steel tanks for 8 months are the basic ingredients of the recipe for this interesting white wine, pleasantly rich and sweetly aromatic. A wine with character that requires a combination with dishes with strong flavour. Try it, for example, alongside a board of cheeses that are gradually becoming more mature, or even as an accompaniment to a sweet, but not overly sweet, end of the meal. Local pairing? With apple strudel, of course.

    23 must be a lucky number. At least in South Tyrol. Yes, because in 1923 the Girlan Winery was founded and, as chance would have it, it was founded by 23 winegrowers. Cabal aside, the winery is housed in a historic 16th century farmhouse. Behind these walls of ancient tradition and in the intricate corridors of the Cellar, nowadays the secrets of cutting-edge wine-making technology and the ideal conditions for aging wines are hidden. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. And wines in those cellars. Today, 200 winegrowers are involved in the Girlan project, spread over an area of approximately 220 hectares. Vineyards in the best production areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, all worked with great dedication. The oenologist responsible for the creation of the wines is Gerhard Kofler, who personally takes care of the contacts with the vintners, giving his advice in the most delicate phases of the season.
