    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino bianco fermo
    • Location Sicily
    • Grapes Inzolia in purezza 100%
    • Sensations Straw yellow wine with light greenish reflections, crystalline with good consistency. In the glass it releases a sensual range of aromas reminiscent of tropical fruit (pineapple, lichti and mango), lemon and citron flowers, enriched by notes of aromatic plants and a subtle minerality that gives complexity and elegance. On the palate it is warm, soft and savoury. The notes perceived on the nose are all present in the mouth, with a freshness that gives great elegance and infinite drinkability.
    • Vinification The grapes are harvested early in the morning so as not to destroy the precious and delicate aromatic heritage typical of the variety. The harvested grapes are brought to the winery quickly and immediately sent for destemming and pressing. A soft pressing cycle follows and the must obtained is decanted under cold conditions. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, after the first racking, the wine is left to mature in contact with the fine lees and subjected to frequent agitation that allows the fine lees to be suspended. This helps to obtain a richer and more harmonious structure, favouring a positive evolution of the characteristic aromas. After bottling, the wine is aged for about two months in the bottle before release.

    • The secret of this wine is to be found in the beneficial action of the Mediterranean winds. The base, then, is an excellent grape variety Inzolia that thanks to these breezes, retains its innate marine character, giving us a fresh and mineral wine. Typical and modern at the same time. In this case the grapes are harvested early in the morning, so as not to risk ruining the precious and delicate aromatic heritage typical of the variety. In the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and, once this phase is complete, the wine is left to mature in contact with the fine lees and subjected to frequent agitation that allows the decomposing yeasts to be suspended. This allows to obtain a richer and more harmonious structure, favouring a positive evolution of the characteristic aromas. Straw yellow with light greenish reflections, in the glass it releases a wide range of aromas reminiscent of tropical fruit, such as pineapple, lichti and mango, lemon flowers and citron. Then notes of aromatic plants and a subtle minerality that gives complexity and elegance. In the mouth it is warm, soft and savoury. To appreciate this wine to the fullest, one must undoubtedly turn to one of the best-loved typical products of western Sicily. We are referring to the marvellous Mazara red prawns. Served raw, of course.

Cantine Patrì has roots as solid as its vineyards. The company was founded in 1936, in the territory of Butera, by Rocco Paterna, who was succeeded, years later, by his son-in-law Giuseppe Patrì and later by his son Rocco. The latter, with his wife Patrizia and children Giuseppe, Elisa and Daniela, decided to enhance the extraordinary wine heritage of his land, devoting a third of the 250 hectares of property to the production of wine. Today Cantine Patrì produces wines in the Riesi, Etna and Sicily DOCGs, as well as the prestigious Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG. The winery is located in the hilly inland area of the province of Caltanissetta, in central southern Sicily, characterised by mild temperatures, abundant sunshine and a period of drought generally concentrated between June and August. Soils composed of clayey and calcareous rocks allow the winery to produce wines of great structure, with compact, deep colours and great longevity. The varieties represented are those typical of the region, namely Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Syrah, Catarratto, Insolia, Grillo and Zibibbo. The company is also committed to environmental protection and the safeguarding of specific characteristics. The entire production of Cantine Patrì, therefore, is part of a harmonious project that starts from the meticulous care of the processes, to the choice of the best grapes up to the cellar, where a meticulous control of all phases begins, through modern and respectful processes of vinification.
