  • Sensations It has a beautiful straw yellow colour with crystalline reflections. It opens with fresh fruity scents reminiscent of white peach, hawthorn and grapefruit with subtle hints of herbs. In the mouth it releases its measured structure where the alcoholic notes are perfectly integrated and balanced by the freshness and minerality that give this wine great drinkability.
  • Vinification The grapes are harvested at night by hand to avoid exposure to excessive temperatures that would compromise the aromatic expression. The harvested grapes are brought to the winery quickly and are immediately destemmed and pressed. A cycle of soft pressing follows and the must obtained is decanted cold. Alcoholic fermentation then starts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is racked off and subjected to frequent batonnage, which allows the fine lees to be suspended. This technique enriches the structure of the wine, also giving it a greater aromatic expression. After bottling, the wine is aged for two to three months in the bottle before release.

  • At harvest time, around Sicily, you may notice a great deal of activity in the vineyards, even at night. This is because, conscientious companies like Patrì foresee a night harvest for the most delicate varieties, when temperatures are lower and the bunches are less stressed in their journey to the cellar. They seem insignificant things. But it is enough to uncork a bottle like this, a pure Grillo, to understand that everything has a purpose, and that the hard work of the pickers forced to leave their beds well before dawn, allows us to enjoy a wine of great pleasure.     Rocco, Patrizia and their children Giuseppe, Elisa and Daniela Patrì have a dream. That of enhancing the value of its historical viticultural heritage. For this reason, in 2010 they founded a new company in Butera, in the central-southern part of Sicily. An area particularly suited to the production of wine, an area containing some of the most prestigious Sicilian appellations, starting from Cerasuolo di Vittoria and Etna DOC, as well as DOC Sicilia of course. Lands, and grapes, capable of producing the wines that modern consumers demand, quality reds and whites, elegant, well-structured and Mediterranean but also capable of evoking suggestions linked to the territory of origin. All this is achieved through meticulous care in every aspect of the workmanship. From the countryside, where the company can now count on about 250 hectares, one third of which are planted with Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Syrah, Catarratto, Insolia, Grillo, Chardonnay, Zibibbo and Petit Manseng. All the way to the cellar and then to the bottle, the realm of oenologist Antonio Landolfi, who is entrusted with the supervision of winemaking. To date, the company is constantly going through a phase of full and constant growth. With an annual production of about 100,000 bottles that can grow a lot more, without having to compromise on quality.
