"Poggio Santa Lucia" Bellone Lazio IGT 2021
  • The Azienda Agricola I Lori is located in Cori, in the province of Latina. Its vineyards insist in an area particularly suited for the production of quality grapes. They are, in fact, about 350 metres above sea level, where they enjoy a unique microclimate, characterised by the protection of the Lepini Mountains and the sea breeze coming from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The mineral-rich and well-drained soil, together with the favourable temperature range, enhances the quality and complexity of the wines produced. The Lazio IGT Bianco Poggio Santa Lucia is made from 100% Bellone grapes, an indigenous variety of the region. It is known for its ability to produce structured white wines with a distinctive aromatic profile and excellent ageing capacity. This ancient grape variety, celebrated since Roman times, is renowned for its endurance and ability to fully express the characteristics of the terroir in which it is grown. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo soft pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature for about 20-25 days. Then the wine is matured on the noble lees for about 120 days, acquiring more structure and complexity. It is then bottled and left to refine further in the bottle for another 120 days before being put on the market. In the glass, it has a luminous straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it offers a broad and balanced bouquet, with distinctive notes of mulberry and white-fleshed fruit such as pear and apple. In the mouth, it is balanced and persistent, with a pleasant freshness and a nice structure. Its well-balanced acidity and taste persistence make it a versatile wine suitable for various occasions.

Passion and tradition in the heart of Lazio. This is I Lori, Azienda Agricola, an extraordinary example of dedication and love for the land. Established in 2010 in Cori, in the province of Latina, it initially made a name for itself by producing extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality. Over time, however, the company quickly conquered the market thanks to its philosophy based on meticulous care of the plants and respect for nature. Cori is a charming village located between the Lepini Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea, an ideal environment for the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards. The Lepini Mountains offer natural protection against frost, while sea breezes caress the crops, creating a perfect microclimate for the growth of healthy, vigorous plants. In 2018, Gambero Rosso recognised the excellence of I Lori's oil, awarding it the 'three leaves' and listing it among the best in Italy. The same year also saw a significant turning point for the company, which decided to undertake wine production as well. Starting with two typical local grape varieties, Nero Buono and Bellone. Today, the I Lori estate has 25 hectares of olive groves and 12 hectares of vineyards.
