Tenuta di Angoris srl - Località Angoris 7 - 34071 CORMONS (GO)
Collio Bianco DOC Langor di Angoris is a wine that well represents the excellence of Collio, one of Italy's most prestigious wine-growing areas. It is offered by Angoris, a winery that certainly needs no introduction. Collio, with its typical ‘ponca’ soil, gives the wines a strong minerality. This particular mix of minerals, with its ability to retain water, gives the wines an elegance and complexity that few other soils can boast. Characteristics that can certainly be found in this Collio Bianco DOC, a designation designed to allow winemakers to express themselves freely, blending different varieties of white grapes to create a wine that reflects their vision. Specifically, Langor's blend includes Sauvignon, Friulano and a touch of Malvasia, grapes that embody the quintessence of Collio. Vinification begins with cold maceration, followed by a controlled 14-day fermentation, which preserves the freshness of the grapes. The wine then matures for 12 months on the lees and then matures in the bottle for a further 14 months, developing complexity and harmony. In the glass, Langor has a straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose, it is an explosion of sage, thyme, acacia, green apple, cedar, white peach and tropical notes. In the mouth, however, it is dry, warm, savoury, with good acidity that invites another sip. Mineral, elegant, it closes with a long persistence. Perfect with raw fish, such as amberjack or swordfish carpaccio, scampi, lobster, oysters and tuna tartare.
Tenuta di Angoris has been in the municipality of Cormons since 1648, the year in which the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III of Habsburg thanked Locatello Locatelli for his service in the 30 Years War by donating 300 fields in the area known as ‘Langoris’. Today, it is Marta Locatelli who runs the family business, thanks to the collaboration of oenologist Alessandro Bologna, who is in turn assisted by a dynamic and cohesive staff. The Tenuta's 75 hectares of vineyards are located in the most suitable areas for regional viticulture (DOC Friuli Isonzo - DOC Friuli Colli Orientali - DOC Collio). The Angoris Estate started a long time ago on a path aimed at respecting the environment and natural resources. Since 2017, in fact, they have been able to boast S.Q.N.P.I. recognition - Sistema di Qualità Nazionale Produzione Integrata (National Quality System for Integrated Production) - an agri-food production system that uses all means of production and defence of agricultural production from adversities, aimed at minimising the use of synthetic chemical substances and rationalising fertilisation, in compliance with ecological principles.
