Ribolla Gialla is another of Friuli's symbols. A pleasantly versatile grape variety that is able to give life to very different wines but always united by the same lightness and ease of drinking. These are wines that give satisfaction and that can easily be served both as an aperitif, as an alternative to the classic bubbly, and at the table, where they demonstrate great versatility and a true predisposition for pairing. Perfect with first and second courses of fish, Friulians are also used to pairing it with foods with a pleasantly smoky flavour, such as fish and hams, which are never lacking in those parts. Harvested in the estate's vineyards in San Floriano del Collio, the grapes are soon brought to the cellar and processed in full respect of the raw material. After all, they are used to saying in Ascevi Luwa, true quality is made in the countryside. In the cellar, then, all that remains is to indulge the work of Mother Nature. Brilliant straw yellow in colour with faint golden highlights, the bouquet is delicate and elegant. Hints of ripe fruit and floral notes stand out. In the mouth it reveals itself as a fresh, full-bodied wine with a pleasant mineral note.
San Floriano del Collio is one of those hidden corners of Friuli that bring serenity to those fortunate enough to know it. Today the two parents are joined by their children Walter and Luana. Most of the wines produced, as tradition dictates, are the offspring of white grape varieties, grown in vineyards at an altitude of between 150 and 250 metres above sea level. The Friuli Isonzo vineyards, on the other hand, are located in the flat area to the left of the river. While modern oenological practices are de rigueur in the cellar, the quality of Ascevi Luwa wines originates in the countryside. Because that is where wine is born. And good country makes good wine.
