Avanzi's Lugana DOC Riserva ‘Borghetta’ is an elegant interpretation of the native Turbiana grape variety, grown in the vineyards south of Lake Garda, near Sirmione. Produced only in the best years, this refined white wine ferments partly in steel and partly in French oak barriques, where it matures for about 10 months before further refinement in the bottle. In the glass it has an intense straw yellow colour, enlivened by golden reflections. The bouquet is ample and complex, with notes of exotic fruit, candied citrus fruit, honey, vanilla and toasted hints. In the mouth it is enveloping and structured, with a marked sapidity and a long mineral finish. A wine of great balance, it is perfect in combination with shellfish, lake fish and mature cheeses. A mature and profound expression of Lugana, designed to last over time.
