Amidst the gravelly hills of the Graves region, south of Bordeaux, lies Château Floridène, a historic estate with a long winemaking tradition. Here is born Clos Floridène, Graves White, a wine that embodies the essence of the terroir and the winery's production philosophy. The Château's vineyards enjoy a temperate climate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. An ideal microclimate for growing white grapes, in particular Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Clos Floridène, Graves Blanc, is a blend of three noble grape varieties: Sauvignon (51.5%), Sémillon (47%) and Muscadelle (1.5%), with a perfect balance of freshness, aromaticity and complexity. In the glass, it has a beautiful bright straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose reveals heady aromas of lemon peel, green apple, guava and mineral hints. A complex and elegant bouquet that anticipates a dry and juicy sip. Medium body and lively acid freshness give the wine balance and persistence. It goes well with grilled fish and shellfish, but also with salads and vegetarian dishes. It also exalts itself with fresh cheeses and fish-based first courses.
We are in the heart of the Graves area, south of Bordeaux. Here, Château Floridène stands out as a jewel of sustainable winegrowing, where passion for the land and respect for nature intertwine to produce high-quality wines. Today, the winery can count on 40 hectares, on gravelly hills typical of the region. This soil, rich in minerals and well drained, offers an ideal environment for growing fine grapes, giving the wines a distinctive character and unmistakable personality. In the countryside, all the grape varieties typical of the region are used, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and a touch of Muscadelle. The choice of these grape varieties reflects a profound knowledge of the terroir and the search for a perfect balance between power and elegance.
