Chateau Bellegrave produces this Pauillac, repeatedly awarded by the strictest international critics. The basic blend, as is normal for the area, is based on Cabernet Sauvignon, which contributes over 60% to the final blend. Backing him up is the most classic of companions, Merlot, which brings a nice note of fruit to the finished wine. Vinification involves a maceration period, with temperature control, lasting at least three weeks. After racking and malolactic fermentation, the wine rests in wood for several months before final blending and bottling. Ruby red with beautiful garnet reflections, this Pauillac has intense aromas of red and dark fruit. Medium-bodied, it has ripe and silky tannins. A wine capable of ageing well for years to come, it goes well with red meat and game dishes.
