Champagne J. Clement Brut Millesimé 2018
    • Champagne, passion, luxury and tradition in a single glass. And when the Champagne in question is the Brut Millésime 2018 proposed here by J.Clément, the choice is always the right one. Let's start with the blend. 70% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, all from the Marne Valley in the commune of Reuil, all harvested during the 2018 vintage. The vineyards in this case are located in the low hills, about 170 metres above sea level. Well-established, historical plants, with an average age of around 40 years. The whole bunches are harvested by hand in mid-September to be taken to the cellar in small crates and subjected to soft pressing. The must obtained undergoes gentle cold decanting and is then sent for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. After fermentation in the bottle, the wine matures in contact with its own yeasts for about 7 years before disgorging. This reveals a wine characterised by a beautiful golden yellow colour, with fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, notes of ripe fruit such as peach, pear and quince, hints of butter and brioche bread. On the finish, light toasted and spicy notes with a pleasant oxidative note. In the mouth it is fresh and structured. Elegant and complex, with excellent persistence. A Champagne to be uncorked on several occasions. Excellent from the moment of the aperitif, this Millésime from Maison J.Clément is the ideal companion for refined fish dinners.

Familiar, small and capable of producing wines of great quality. This is the identity card of Maison J Clement, founded in the 1950s by Martial Clement. He was succeeded by his son, James Clement, who began working alongside his father in the vineyard and cellar from the age of 14. Today, the fortunes of the small maison are entrusted to Cécile and Fabien, who have the task of developing the international market. Today, J Clement has 9.5 hectares under vine (Chardonnay 20%, Pinot Noir 25%, Pinot Meunier 55%), divided into 36 plots in 4 different villages or crus.
