    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino Champagne
    • Location France
    • Grapes Chardonnay 45%, Pinot Meunier 40%, Pinot Noir 15%
    • Sensations Its pale gold colour with faint green reflections becomes more golden with age. A fine bead of tiny bubbles accompanies its delicate and elegant nose, which suggests the majority of Chardonnay used. Its bouquet is a subtle mix of ripe citrus fruits and fresh fruit, particularly white peaches. The black grape varieties then begin to reveal notes of small red fruits and its marked vinosity. On the palate it retains a wonderful liveliness and aromatic freshness, slightly minty and acidic with notes of green apple. It is extremely harmonious, balanced and full-bodied with red fruits that are present in the bouquet. Notes of citrus fruit return for the finish and then slowly fade away.
    • Vinification Ageing in the cellar: 8 years on the lees

Champagne "Baron Fuenté" Grand Millésime 2015
    • When the going gets tough... In Champagne, the game is on. Joking apart, this Grand Millésime is only produced in the best years and only from the best grapes available. In this case, for example, Baron-Fuenté carefully selects only the best bunches of grapes from the vineyards located on the banks of the Marne, in the largest vineyard in Champagne. The blend is composed of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier and 15% Pinot Noir. A very important wine that reaches perfect maturity only after resting for about 8 years in contact with its yeasts in the cellar. One of those Champagnes that are good already today, a few months/years after disgorgement, but that certainly know how to evolve for a long time in the cellar, continuing to give different emotions year after year. Even 10, according to its creators. In the glass it has a beautiful pale gold colour, with soft greenish reflections. A fine chain of tiny bubbles accompanies the most delicate aromas to our nose. Its bouquet is a subtle mix of ripe citrus and fresh fruit, particularly white peaches. Only later do we begin to perceive the typical scents of black grape varieties. In the mouth it is pleasantly lively and fresh. Extremely balanced and with good body. With 8 grams of sugar per litre, this elegant and generous Champagne can be enjoyed throughout the meal, from the aperitif to the cheese. Just one piece of advice. This Champagne should always be bought in several bottles. So you can uncork one immediately. The others are jealously guarded in the cellar, waiting for the right occasion to uncork them and once again enjoy the pleasure of a great French sparkling wine.

On the home page of the Baron-Fuenté website we read: ‘Our objective is nothing less than excellence... For the Baron-Fuenté family, excellence is not just a value, it is part of our spirit’. After all, it would be difficult to imagine anything different, given that the company is run today by the same family that has owned the vineyards of Charly-sur-Marne since the 17th century. The plots are located on the marvellous hills of the Marne Valley, to the west of the Champagne wine region. However, the history of Maison Baron-Fuenté only officially began in 1962, when Gabriel Baron and Dolorès Fuenté received 1 hectare of vines from Gabriel's father as a wedding gift. Then, in 1983, the children of Dolorès and Gabriel decided to join the company to continue their parents' work and make it prosper. Sophie, in particular, learnt the demanding work of a winegrower thanks to her father, acquiring a very special sensitivity in the management of the vineyards of Champagne. Ignace, on the other hand, takes care of the cellar, giving the house wines a very personal style. Today Sophie and Ignace Baron are the proud owners of a 40-hectare vineyard. Waiting for the arrival of the new generation, of course...
