    Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée Saint-Vincent 2022
  • A jewel of the Côte de Beaune, this Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée St-Vincent is offered here by Maison Vincent Girardin. We are in Meursault: a name, a guarantee. The name of this commune comes from the Latin ‘mors altus’, meaning ‘great forest’. In the past, the area was in fact covered by vast forests. Today, the vineyards of this area, characterised by calcareous and marly soils, offer the Chardonnay, the protagonist of this wine, the ideal conditions to express its full potential. The result is a white wine of great finesse, with a distinct minerality and remarkable aromatic complexity. On the nose, it opens on an intense and complex bouquet, where notes of yellow-fleshed fruit, such as peach and pineapple, pleasantly intertwine with floral hints and delicate aromas of vanilla and toast, donated by the ageing in wood. To the eye, Cuvée St-Vincent has a beautiful, luminous straw yellow colour. While in the mouth it reveals an innate elegance and great natural balance. Good structure and pleasant acidity. This Bourgogne Blanc can already be enjoyed today, discovering its freshness and liveliness. Alternatively, it can easily rest for a few years in the cellar, even 10, discovering its ability to evolve over time, acquiring greater complexity and depth. Its typical minerality goes perfectly with fish, shellfish and seafood dishes. Also excellent with fresh cheeses and white meats.

Founded in 1980 in the heart of Burgundy, Maison Vincent Girardin is today one of the most interesting expressions of terroir in this wine region. The family's link with the world of wine, however, dates back as far as the 17th century. Thanks to his innate sensitivity and his profound respect for tradition, Vincent Girardin has been able to best interpret the potential of his vineyards, located in the prestigious Côte de Beaune appellations. His production philosophy is based on a deep respect for nature and terroir. In the vineyard, sustainable farming practices are favoured, limiting the use of chemical products and favouring biodiversity. In the cellar, vinification is conducted in the traditional way, enhancing the intrinsic characteristics of each grape. With the arrival at the winery of Eric Germain in the early 2000s, the Maison then experienced a milestone in its history. A highly talented oenologist, Germain brought a breath of innovation to the winery, while maintaining a deep respect for tradition. Under his leadership, Vincent Girardin wines have reached an even greater level of complexity and elegance, expressing the essence of the great Burgundian terroirs at their best.
