    Pecorino Abruzzo DOC 2021
  • In recent years, this grape variety has become increasingly popular. For that hint of aromaticity that distinguishes it but above all for its great versatility. In Abruzzo, Pecorino is offered both in sparkling and, as in this case, in a pleasant still version. Tenuta Tre Gemme produces it from the estate's own grapes, harvested when fully ripe and soon delivered to the winery for processing. Vinification in stainless steel, in temperature-controlled containers, to ensure the perfect extraction of all the best aromas. After fermentation, the ageing phase is also carried out in temperature-controlled steel tanks. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour of medium intensity, the nose reveals notes of fresh fruit, such as apple and pear, to which are added notes of hazelnut and a slight sweet spice reminiscent of cinnamon. Good for a thousand occasions, this Pecorino can make the delight of those who are planning a light, vegetarian lunch. Alternatively, we are not committing a sin if we pair it with a fresh pasta with sauce or with delicate fish. For lovers of ethnic cuisine, Pecorino and sushi is a combination that will literally leave you speechless... good.

We are in the heart of Abruzzo, in the so-called "Terra dei Vestini", an area particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. This is where the Tre Gemme Estate is located. The particular mix of soils, the great temperature range and the beneficial air currents coming from the sea and the mountains are the most important factors for the production of valuable grapes. Today, Tenuta Tre Gemme consists of approximately 70 hectares of vineyards, all of which are optimally exposed and located between 350 and 450 metres above sea level. The winery, on the other hand, is well equipped for vinification and has ideal spaces for ageing the wines. Carla and Anna Perrucci manage the estate with competence and a modern sensitivity towards respect for the environment. Tenuta Tre Gemme, in fact, works with organic farming and is careful to reduce energy consumption to a minimum, as well as recycling resources. But that's not all. Within the company, in fact, there is also a keen interest in ethical issues, particularly in relation to the workers on the land. Sensitivity that takes concrete form in the company's participation in national recovery and inclusion programmes. Tre Gemme wines are good wines that do not harm the environment but, above all, are good for mankind.
