The Barolo stands on firm ground thanks to the dark and savory qualities that lift heavily from the bouquet. This wine is saturated and rich with dark aromas that are firmly stitched together with spice, licorice and pressed blue flowers. There is power and richness at the deep inner core of this wine. It will unfold and become softer with time (perhaps five years or more).

  • James Suckling 93

Extremely perfumed on the nose with cherry, cedar and light asphalt character. Full-bodied, yet vivid and energetic with fine, polished tannins and a long, succulent finish. Pretty already, but better after 2022 and onwards.

  • Wine Enthusiast 93

Fragrant and refined, this focused red opens with alluring scents of iris, woodland berry, botanical herb and pipe tobacco. It's vibrant and linear, featuring strawberry compote, raspberry and star anise framed in bright acidity and taut, polished tannins. Drink 2022–2028. KERIN O’KEEFE

  • Wine Spectator 93

This is elegant, exuding cherry, plum, eucalyptus and mineral flavors. There is a chalky element in the texture that's clean and drying as this tightens up on the finish, with fine intensity and length. Best from 2023 through 2040.

    Barolo DOCG Prunotto
  • A Piedmontese red wine of great strength and structure. A perfect wine for a relaxed, unhurried evening. Where you can converse pleasantly while letting the wine evolve in the glass, expressing its full potential minute by minute. We are talking about Prunotto's Barolo Docg, pure Nebbiolo harvested with care and respect and transformed with wisdom into the noblest of Piedmontese wines. Barolo Prunotto announces itself in all its typicality at first glance. In the glass, in fact, it reveals an intense colour that recalls the shade of garnet. The nose is gratifying, ample and elegant. It's hard to describe in words the range of scents presented to us. But it is in the mouth that it gives us, if possible, even more intense sensations thanks to an excellent body and tannins of incredible finesse. It is an austere wine that should be approached with great respect. A red wine that recalls a special evening and that should be sipped slowly to appreciate all its nuances.

It was in 1904 that the "Ai Vini delle Langhe" winery was founded in Serralunga d'Alba, but after just under twenty years it was sadly put into liquidation. So it was that in 1922 Alfredo Prunotto decided to invest in the project and succeeded in relaunching it. Since then, year after year, the Prunotto Winery has grown and achieved important goals, and in 1994 it became part of the Antinori universe. It currently extends over a total area of about fifty hectares of vineyards, distributed among some of the best wine growing areas in Piedmont, such as Bussia, Bric Turot and Costamiole.
