Cairanne is a small village famous for producing red wines of the highest quality. We are located in the Rhone Valley. Here Domaine de L'Oratoire Saint-Martin offers this Côtes-du-Rhône AOC Rouge Les Douyes, a powerful and complex organic wine. The Cairanne terroir is characterised by a warm, Mediterranean climate, with chalky, sandy soils. This is an ideal terroir for growing red grapes, which here yield robust, elegant and complex wines. Such as the Grenache and Mourvèdre, the protagonists of this blend, from 100-year-old vines. Harvested by hand, vinification begins with the destemming stage, followed by fermentation and maceration for 15 days. The process is completed by an 18-month ageing phase in French oak tonneaux, and bottling without filtration or clarification. Côtes-du-Rhône AOC Rouge Les Douyes presents itself in the glass with a beautiful intense ruby red colour. The nose reveals a fruity bouquet, with clear hints of ripe berries. Then spices, black pepper and liquorice. In the mouth it is powerful and velvety, with elegant tannins and a long persistence. Perfect with red meat dishes, game and mature cheeses. Ideal with spiced meats, braised and stewed dishes.
