Saliato is an important and gratifying red wine. Colli Perugini DOC produced by the Chiorri winery, it comes from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Vinified in steel, with a long period of maceration on the skins, this Umbrian red is aged in barriques for about a year before bottling. Then, before being released for sale, it is aged in the cellar for at least another 6 months. Only then is it ready to face the judgement of the many enthusiasts who appreciate it. In the glass it has a beautiful intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The nose impresses with the breadth of its rich bouquet that recalls notes of red and dark fruit, and fresh flowers. Spicy, with hints of oak, it is a wine that recalls strong combinations. In the mouth it is soft and well structured, pleasantly tannic and decidedly persistent.
