      Chianti DOCG 2023
    • The Chianti DOCG from the Cantina Viticoltori Senesi Aretini winery is a red wine with a beautiful personality. An intense wine, but not too much so. A perfect wine to accompany a lunch with friends or a barbecue dinner. A wine that has only one flaw. One bottle is never enough! But let's proceed in order. It comes from well-tended vineyards, planted in medium-depth clay loam soils. The warm summers and mild winters favour perfect ripening of the grapes. This Chianti, in particular, is obtained from a typical blend, with a prevalence of Sangiovese (85%), the main grape variety of Tuscany, capable of expressing elegance and freshness, and a 15% share of other grape varieties provided for by the regulations, which complete its aromatic and structural profile. The vinification process involves fermentation with maceration on the skins for a period of 15-20 days, during which time the colour, tannins and aromas are extracted. This process gives the wine structure and complexity, while maintaining a pleasant softness. In the glass it has an intense red colour. The nose offers a balanced bouquet, with hints of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, accompanied by light toasted notes that enrich its complexity. In the mouth it is full and soft, with a strong fruity component and a persistent and balanced finish.

Founded in 1971, the Viticoltori Senesi Aretini winery is located in a privileged position, surrounded by the splendid hills of Cortona, Val di Chiana, Montepulciano and Val d'Orcia. This area is particularly suited to viticulture, and has always been a place where wines of great value are produced. Founded with the aim of promoting the grapes of a small number of local producers, today the winery can count on the contribution of over 200 member suppliers, whose vineyards extend over an area of about 350 hectares, between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo. Over the years, the winery has evolved, keeping up with the times. It has therefore moved from selling wine in bulk to producing a wide range of bottled wines. Particular attention is also paid to environmental sustainability. The winery is moving towards an increasingly environmentally sustainable winemaking process, thanks to the use of cutting-edge machinery that guarantees high energy efficiency. It is no coincidence that its wines are today the authentic expression of a territory rich in history and artisan savoir-faire.
