      Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2022
    • The Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG from Castellare di Castellina is a great Tuscan wine. An authentic wine, a perfect expression of its territory. It comes from the charming village of Castellina in Chianti, between Florence and Siena. This area, characterised by limestone hills and altitudes between 350 and 400 metres, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Sangiovese, the main grape variety of Chianti Classico. Castellare di Castellina, born from the fusion of some historic wineries, uses only native vines, without adding international varieties such as Cabernet or Merlot, to preserve the identity of the territory. Specifically, this Chianti is composed of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo. Vinification takes place in steel with malolactic fermentation, followed by ageing for 15 months in French oak barrels, and a further 15 months in the bottle. This process gives the wine an elegant structure and an aromatic complexity that develops over time. Visually, the wine is a brilliant ruby red, tending towards garnet with ageing. On the nose, it offers intense notes of violets, ripe berries, liquorice and a light touch of vanilla. In the mouth it is dry, harmonious and velvety, with good acidity and an elegant finish. This local red wine goes very well with roasts, poultry, game and medium-aged cheeses. But if we want to really put it at ease, let's serve it with a succulent Florentine steak. Pure gastronomic pleasure.

Castellare di Castellina is a beautiful winery in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Founded in the 1970s by Paolo Panerai, the long-standing publisher of the Class group, the winery is now one of the most important in the region, known for producing high quality wines. The company started out producing Chianti Classico, but soon expanded to include other red and white wines, as well as grappa, olive oil and vinegar. Today the winery is a cutting-edge facility, using the latest technologies. It is no coincidence that Castellare di Castellina was the first winery in Italy to use steel for the fermentation of its wines and has always been committed to the research and development of new winemaking techniques. The property includes a historic villa, a castle and several vineyards. The villa is now a luxury hotel, where guests can stay and enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside. The castle is a venue for events and tastings, where you can discover the company's wines and the history of the region. Awarded numerous international prizes, including the ‘Gold Medal’ at the Bordeaux International Wine Competition, Castellare di Castellina is a member of the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium.
