"Salto" Sangiovese Terre di Chieti IGP 2022
    • A princely vine of central Italy, Sangiovese is also the absolute protagonist of this red wine. Grapes from the Chieti area, in vineyards with vines of an average age of 20 years. We are about 300 metres above sea level. The name, Salto, is inspired by one of the most renowned lakes in central Italy. Terre di Chieti IGT, the wine is produced from a traditional, temperature-controlled fermentation in steel vats. At the end of vinification, Salto rests for about 3 months in Slovenian oak barrels followed by a short bottle ageing. In the glass it is a beautiful purplish colour, with notes of ripe red berries on the nose. In the mouth, however, it proves particularly persistent, thanks also to the delicate spiciness that emerges as the minutes pass. An ideal red to accompany cured meats, roast white meats and soups.

I Lauri is a small company born from a dream. That of Antonella and Rodrigo who, in 2004, realising they shared a passion for wines and a love for their land, Abruzzo, decided to take a plot of land in Loreto Aprutino. From that purchase to the creation of their first vineyard, the step was short. And in 2007 the first harvest. Today, the company obtains its raw materials - grapes and olives - from rented land in Loreto Aprutino, Collecorvino and Città Sant'Angelo. The name 'iLauri' is a tribute to the town's inhabitants. Loreto Aprutino, in fact, stands on a hill covered with laurel trees and was formerly called Lauretum, meaning 'grove' or 'laurel tree'.
