Champagne Jean Bernard Bourgeois “Cuvée Désirée” Brut
    • Champagne Cuvée Désirée Brut by Jean-Bernard Bourgeois is a tribute to elegance. The wines from the Courmas region, located in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne, originate from vineyards cultivated on limestone-clay soils. These soils are ideal for viticulture thanks to their ability to retain water and release it gradually. This characteristic, combined with the cool, moderate climate, allows the grapes to reach perfect ripeness, maintaining a lively acidity and developing complex aromas. Cuvée Désirée comes from a particularly successful blend of Pinot Meunier in clear predominance, giving freshness and fruity notes, plus 25% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. This balance of grape varieties makes the Champagne versatile and suitable for many occasions. Maturation in contact with yeasts continues for around 30 months, a period sufficient to develop a delicate aromatic bouquet and a creamy texture, without overpowering the wine's freshness. The result is a Champagne with a fine perlage and a well-balanced structure, distinguished by its savouriness and smoothness. Ideal as an aperitif, this Champagne pairs well with savoury appetisers, canapés with smoked salmon, crostini with pâté or fresh cheeses.

Champagne Jean-Bernard Bourgeois represents an important family heritage in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. For more than two centuries, in fact, the Bourgeois family has cultivated a passion for wine-growing. The first records date back to the 18th century, with Eugène Aristide, vigneron in Jouy-lès-Reims. Then in 1963, the company took shape, thanks to the commitment of Irénée and Jean-Bernard Bourgeois, who planted new vineyards in Courmas, joining the local cooperative. Today, the Maison's vineyards extend over exceptional land, classified Premier Cru, in Jouy-lès-Reims and Coulommes-la-Montagne. In Courmas, in particular, the very rich, clayey soils are ideal for growing Meunier, which is the predominant grape variety on the estate. Always mindful of sustainability, Jérôme et Céline Bourgeois, the fourth generation in the cellar, have adopted environmentally friendly farming practices. By reducing the use of chemical products, favouring organic farming and making the most of the by-products of wine-making, they contribute to preserving biodiversity and limiting the environmental impact of production.
