Champagne Jean-Bernard Bourgeois represents an important family heritage in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. For more than two centuries, in fact, the Bourgeois family has cultivated a passion for viticulture. The first records date back to the 18th century, with Eugène Aristide, vigneron in Jouy-lès-Reims. Then in 1963, the company took shape, thanks to the commitment of Irénée and Jean-Bernard Bourgeois, who planted new vineyards in Courmas, joining the local cooperative. Today, the Maison's vineyards extend over exceptional land, classified Premier Cru, in Jouy-lès-Reims and Coulommes-la-Montagne. In Courmas, in particular, the very rich clay soils are ideal for growing Meunier, which is the predominant grape variety in the estate. Always mindful of sustainability, Jérôme et Céline Bourgeois, the fourth generation in the cellar, have adopted environmentally friendly farming practices. By reducing the use of chemical products, favouring organic farming and making the most of the by-products of wine-making, they help to preserve biodiversity and limit the environmental impact of production.
