    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino rosso fermo
    • Location Veneto
    • Grapes 60% Corvina Veronese, 20% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta
    • Sensations A well-balanced Amarone with liquorice and currants on the nose and palate. Medium to full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a tight, fresh finish that bodes well for further ageing. Ready to drink, but can be stored.
    • Vinification This wine is the result of a remarkable vintage, thanks to particularly favourable climatic conditions. Following an initial, rigorous selection of the grapes in the vineyard, hand picking takes place during the month of October. Only the best bunches are placed in small crates and then on traditional trellises in large, airy fruit lofts, where they are left to dry for about 4 months. During this process, a series of biochemical transformations take place that allow the grapes to reach the ideal degree of drying. After a further selection of the grapes, the crushing and destemming process begins, followed by maceration and alcoholic fermentation that allow the right structure and alcohol content to be reached. This is followed by the maturation of the wine for about six years in small and medium-sized barrels. This is followed by refinement in the bottle for at least six months.

Amarone Valpolicella Classico DOCG Riserva "Corte Brà" 2016
    • Corte Brà is certainly one of the most representative wines of the Sartori winery in Verona. Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, on the label it bears the mentions Classico and Riserva. This indicates that the grapes used for its production come from the historic area of the appellation and that, in addition to the classic period of maturation in wood, the wine waits in the cellar for at least an extra year. The vineyards, located on the hillside, are situated within the "Corte Brà" estate, cultivated mainly with the classic Veronese Pergola. In accordance with the regulations, this red wine is produced from a blend of autochthonous grapes: 60% Corvina Veronese, 20% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta. After drying, the grapes are sent to the winery for processing. The long period of maturation lasts about six years and takes place entirely inside small and medium-sized barrels. This is followed by a further six months of bottle ageing. A wine of intense red colour tending towards garnet with ageing, the bouquet is broad, fine and complex, with characteristic notes of red fruit jam and spices. Fragrances of cherry, dried fruit and tobacco stand out. In the mouth it is powerful and, at the same time, extremely elegant and persistent. A meditation wine, it is a perfect accompaniment to elaborate recipes with savoury meats, game and mature cheeses.

In 2018, the Sartori winery turned 120 years old. This fact is probably enough to understand that it is one of the most incredible realities of the Veronese territory. The story of Sartori began in 1898 when Pietro bought his first vineyard in Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. An "eccentric personality, but magmatic from a business point of view", as Pietro Sartori is described by his heirs, he was one of the most appreciated "restaurateurs" in the area. In fact, the Sartori trattoria was an essential address for merchants, businessmen and small industrialists in the area, to whom Pietro never failed to offer an excellent Veronese Rosso wine, as it was called at the time. Hence, first the decision to expand his business as a wine merchant, and then the decision to start producing on his own, so that good wine would never be missing from the tables of his loyal customers. Today, Sartori is a successful company with an international vocation, achieving over 80% of its turnover in more than 50 countries, in Europe, North and South America, Russia and South East Asia. In its range, proudly, the great Veronese classics: Valpolicella, Soave, Bardolino, Bardolino Chiaretto, always reinterpreted in an elegant and personalised way.
